TOPIC 1: Parkinson’s Disease and Essential Tremor.
Upon completion of this session, the participant should be able to: COMP
- Assess the clinical features of the syndrome of parkinsonism.
- Evaluate other important typical features of Parkinson’s disease.
- Select treatment options for management of Parkinson’s disease.
- Distinguish among common types of tremor and devise a therapeutic plan for a patient with essential tremor.
TOPIC 2: Multiple Sclerosis.
Upon completion of this session, the participant should be able to: COMP
- Recognize the typical clinical features of multiple sclerosis.
- Initiate an appropriate series of diagnostic investigations.
- Formulate an approach to abortive and prophylactic therapy of multiple sclerosis.
- Anticipate common medical complications of multiple sclerosis.
TOPIC 3: Approach to the Management of Stroke.
Upon completion of this session, the participant should be able utilize the latest evidence based medicine and guidelines to: EBM, GL, COMP
- Develop a strategy to assess the common presentations of stroke/TIA.
- Utilize current initial treatment strategies appropriately.
- Develop a strategy to stratify the risk of stroke.
- Develop a secondary prevention plan.
