Our Mission

The purpose of the American Medical Seminars, Inc. CME Program is to develop and deliver clinically relevant, evidence-based CME activities in an effort to align practitioner’s behavior with current clinical guidelines and the evidence to improve their competence and the care they provide their patients.

Who Should Attend and Why?

Any Health Practitioner or Specialist who wants EBM and Guideline-driven, Case-Based and Interactive Primary Care updates and reviews.  These self-study modules may be combined to build your course to fit your individualized learning needs and since each module is only 3 topics/5 credits, you can now fit them into your busy schedule.  CME that can be completed at your convenience – while traveling, driving to work, or home study.  Additionally, the portability and flexibility of our Downloadable format allows you to choose when and where you study.

Immediate Results with Online Testing

You may obtain immediate test results with corrections, upon successful completion of your test online. Simply click on “Testing” in the top menu bar. Upon course completion, you keep the course materials and syllabus.

You must correctly answer at least 70% of the questions to receive credit. We do not maintain copies of your test results, so you will need to keep a copy for your records. Estimated course completion times:

Expiration – These CME activities qualify for AMA PRA Category 1 Credits up to the stated expiration date for each CME module. Tests received after the stated expiration date can NOT be considered for CME credit.

AMS Accreditation

American Medical Seminars, Inc. is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Certification

American Medical Seminars, Inc. designates these enduring materials for up to 5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

AAPA

PAs may claim a maximum of 5 Category 1 credits for completing these activities. NCCPA accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ from organizations accredited by ACCME or a recognized state medical society.

AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ Certificate

Upon completion of each CME module, you will receive a certificate for up to 5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits from American Medical Seminars, Inc. provided the course is successfully completed as designed.

The certificate will reflect the course title, credits earned and the date of completion, which will be the date we receive your test answer/evaluation form online. Testing online gives immediate results with feedback.

Overall Program Objectives

Our audio courses cover eighteen (18) areas of Primary Care Medicine. The overall objective is to provide the participant with practical and clinically relevant information. Upon completion of these CME activities, through the use of clinical case vignettes emphasizing Guidelines and Evidence-Based Medicine, the physician or healthcare provider should be able to formulate a differential, make a diagnosis and develop a plan for the prevention and/or therapeutic management of the various disorders presented. Each CME activity has its own set of objectives, which are available upon request, included in each syllabus and accessible through this website.

Non-US Licensed Physicians

The American Medical Association has determined that physicians not licensed in the US who participate in these CME activities are eligible for AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.

Intended Audience

Primary Care Practitioners such as Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, General Practice and even Specialists who would like practical and clinically relevant reviews and updates in Primary Care Medicine.

Tax Deductions and Employer Reimbursement

Expenses to maintain or improve skills required by an individual for his or her employment or other trade or business may be deductible for federal income tax purposes or reimbursable under employee reimbursement plans. Depending upon a participant’s individual circumstances, enduring materials course fees are often deductible or reimbursable. Travel expenses are subject to more restrictive standards regarding deductibility and reimbursement under many plans. We recommend consultation with a personal tax advisor and/or your employee plan administrator to determine the proper treatment of enduring materials course fees and related expenses in your particular circumstances. See U.S. Treasury Reg. 1.162-5.

Cancellation Policy

CME Products – AMS offers a 30 day money back guarantee on individual courses ordered.  If you order multiple courses exceeding $1,000.00, AMS will refund you the full amount minus a $50.00 Per Course Administrative Fee plus S&H.  If you have not tried our products previously, we strongly encourage that you purchase a single product first to ensure it will meet your educational style and needs.  AMS reserves the right to refuse to sell to individuals who consistently make large purchases only to return them.

*Returns and refunds will not be accepted for any orders that include a “Tech Add-On” items including: Gift Cards and Apple iPad.

Live Conferences

American Medical Seminars has implemented a Worry-Free Cancellation policy. Written cancellations received 30 or more days prior to the conference start date will be eligible for a full refund of the registration fee paid.  Cancellations received less than 30 days, please send an email to mail@ams4cme.com asking to be switched to a future conference. We are happy to transfer you to any conference scheduled to take place within the next two years. Even if you are not yet sure which conference you wish to attend.

If you are an international attendee and need to cancel the seminar after an Invitation Letter has been sent, there is a $150.00 cancellation fee.

All presenting faculty/planning committee members are expected to specifically disclose in writing their relevant financial relationships and the nature of the relationships to include type of remuneration and their role maintained by them or their spouse/partner within the past 12 months with any proprietary entities producing healthcare goods or services, with the exception of non-profit or government organizations and non-healthcare related companies. When relevant financial relationships and/or interests are identified, this support must not be for these AMS CME activities.

All potential conflicts of interest identified will be resolved prior to their presentations or the presenting faculty/planning committee member will be withdrawn from planning/participating in the CME activity.
