Dr. Vilke, is an Emeritus Professor of Emergency Medicine at the University of San Diego (UCSD) School of Medicine where he worked in the emergency department and urgent care settings for over 30 years. He served as the vice chair of clinical operations for emergency medicine overseeing three emergency departments and also served as the medical director for risk management for UCSD Health for over a decade. He has over 320 peer reviewed publications and has written two textbooks and over 110 textbook chapters and has mentored over 250 students, residents, fellows and faculty.
